First 8 Cylinder Car Converted In Singapore
The record is set! Once again C. Melchers has proven why the group is the leader in the CNG industry. The first 8 cylinder CNG (Compressed natural gas) powered vehicle, a Jeep Commander, is the latest achievement by C. Melchers, CNG workshop located at Old Toh Tuck Road. This distinctively styled Commander is the ultimate Jeep vehicle for vast mileage savings by operating on CNG, offering greater versatility and flexibility. It permits seating for five passengers (after removal of the last row of seats to accommodate the CNG cylinders) and massive space for your gear even after installation of the 82L light-weight CNG cylinders. One can hardly notice any difference even when driving on CNG from the 4.7l V8 engine.
The savings far outweigh the initial cost of CNG conversion installation. A respectable mileage of 240km can be easily achieved from the two 82L carbon-fibre CNG cylinders (30kg of CNG). Most petrol engines can be retro-fitted to run on both CNG and petrol. Switching between CNG and Petrol modes is a fly, hence, no worries if you’re cruising on gas and running out. The great looks and horsepower are not the Jeep Commander's only forte. With the 40% off ARF of OMV as Green Vehicle Rebate (GVR), this chic Jeep could be yours at a much lesser price!
C. Melchers GmbH & Co. operates the largest CNG conversion network in Singapore under their www.cng.com.sg franchise. With dedicated staff to CNG conversion and superior technology, their CNG installations are renowned and respected island-wide.
